I'm Rhonda, a Detroit native and proud graduate of The College for Creative Studies. I have a love and passion for visual communications as my experience ranges from graphic and interactive design, to pattern design and brand strategy.

I began teaching myself graphic design at the age of 15 simply as a hobby, I started making my church bulletins and my passion blossomed from there. By age 16, I had my first freelance job, a house warming invitation, I designed it in Microsoft Word, cut and folded by hand, and coupled with vanilla envelopes, it was a hit! From then on I became known to my friends and family as the one to go to when you need something “cool” designed. Throughout the next 8+ years I designed for friends and family but still worked various jobs, went to college off and on but never considered graphic design as a career. In 2010 due to the recession, I lost my job as a bank teller and I decided to go back to school, but this time I’d go to do what I had been doing all along, graphic design. At the entry of my portfolio I was immediately accepted into The College for Creative Studies, the top 3 highest ranking fine arts colleges in the U.S., along with a $28,000 scholarship!

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design in 2014. I now work as a Communications Coordinator and Graphic Designer at The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, Creative Director of my own freelance company; Rendezvous Visual Communications, and Media Director at The Open Door Church of God in Christ-Detroit.
